Hockey Premier League sides Surbiton and Beeston met on Sunday at Surbiton where the club had hired a PopUp grandstand in an effort to improve the pitch side atmosphere and spectator experience. 

The result was outstanding with the home side beating the league leaders 5-1. No doubt the temporary seating upgrade played its part in the win and Surbiton will be looking to repeat the experience at all its home games.

Congratulations to the twelve athletes who made the shortlist at the BBC's prestigious Sports Personality 2012.

What a truly amazing year for British sport! It was almost impossible to pick a winner and all twelve might have won it in any other year and special congratulations go to Bradley Wiggins, Jess Ennis and Andy Murray.

During the 2012 Olympic Games, PopUpArena provided the AstroTile sports courts in Hyde Park, Victoria Park and Trafalgar Square for Live Site sponsor BT.

Over 50,000 people used the courts to try out the many sports on offer the unique "come and try" sessions and all the NGBs who made use of the courts acclaimed them as a great success.

More than 700 children took up the chance to try out PopUpArena's innovative mobile running track and arena system. The arena was set up at Newfield School who hosted the "Great Athletics Experience" organised by South Yorkshire Sport in partnership with Englnd Athletics and Youth Sport Trust. 

The event, which enjoyed some challenging Sheffield weather, was a great success and proved very popular with the participating school children, coaches and volunteers. Representaives from the Youth Sports Trust, England Athletics and UK Athletics witnessed the enthusiasm and reaction of the children and gave PopUpArena their unanimous approval. 

Paralympic athlete Hannah Cockcroft, accompanied by local, regional and national media, tried out the track and gave an inspirational speech at the school.

PopUpArena is very pleased to announce a new partnership in Brazil with respected athletes Robson Caetano (Olympic Medal Sprinter) and Paulo Almeida (Pan American & International Master Jiu-Jitsu).

The partnership will establish the PopUpArena brand in Brazil ahead of the World Cup and Rio 2016 and plans to start operations this autumn working with the Rio State Government to provide our unique mobile sports facilities to communities throughout the State.

Sell out demand to watch the international ladies hockey teams competing in the finals of the London Cup meant PopUpArena mobile grandstands were called in overnight to add capacity and a really great view of all the action in the circle. Congratulations to Netherlands who beat Australia in the final.

The world's top teams are truly talented and that includes the GB girls who will now be preparing hard for the challenges and excitement of the Olympics. 

PopUpArena was delighted to provide the grandstand view for over 300 hockey coaches observing the mens and womens GB Olympic hockey teams in training at the National Sports Centre, Bisham Abbey.

As a member of the 1908 Club, PopUpArena supports England Hockey and we wish both squads great success at London 2012.

PopUpArena provided a grandstand view of Kauto Star making history in the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park on Boxing day. Ridden by Ruby Walsh, Kauto Star won the race for a record fifth time to the deafening delight of the festive crowd. We are very pleased to be providing our specialist temporary seating to major events at the Jockey Club Racecourses.

On 23rd November HRH The Princess Royal opened UKSEM LONDON 2011, Europe's largest Conference for Sports Science, Medicine and Performance Coaching.

She attended the conference in the morning to speak about her experiences as an Olympian before touring the Exhibition and Sports Demonstration area where PopUpArena provided the show's centrepiece with a 60m sprint track, judo / wrestling zone and boxing ring.

PopUpArena installed a 4 lane 60m sprint track at the junior day of the Great South Run event in Portsmouth on 29th October. During the day more than 1200 young people and family members ran the track with times being recorded and photographed for each race.

Olympic athlete and race organiser John Mayock said the track was tremendously popular and a feature they would like to have at their events in 2012.

The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) has announced that Highland Spring, the Official Water Supplier to the LTA has extended its partnership with the governing body to become the new sponsor of LTA Mini Tennis. The unveiling of the new partnership took place at Ravenscraig Regional Sports Centre near Glasgow, with television personalities Gabby and Kenny Logan, AEGON GB Davis Cup players Colin Fleming and Ross Hutchins also with the new family of LTA Mini Tennis characters in attendance. 

PopUpArena provided its unique mobile tennis courts in two mini formats for the launch.

PopUpArena provided the finish line spectator seating for Ironman 2011 in Bolton on 31st July. Thousands gathered during the day and through the evening in the town centre to support and welcome home the competitors who completed the gruelling triathlon event. It was won by Australian Aaron Farlow in a course record time of 8hr 24min 34sec. Congratulations to all those who took part in this great event.

PopUpArena has installed Scotland's first mobile tennis court at Ravenscraig Sports Centre in North Lanarkshire. The court, set up by staff at the centre in just a few hours indoors our outdoors can be configured for full size and mini tennis. Now the community can take advantage of the buzz around Wimbledon and Davis Cup as Ravenscraig offers tennis programmes and coaching through the summer.
